Homemade Universe...Me in 2009 and beyond
I chose this piece of art to really represent 2009 for me.
2008 wasn't the easiest year for me but when adversity strikes it is always best to learn from it and come back stronger.
As cliche as that sounds I want this year to create my homemade universe.
I want to be able to spark ideas that will change the rest of my life and recreate the colors and shapes I see in my mind.
So goodbye 2008
And welcome 2009, home of the homeade universe.

Sia- You Have Been Loved
Australian Songstress SIA is one of the more unique artists to come out in 2008. This is a nice song to introduce you to her talent and style.
SIA-You Have Been Loved
Andy Warhol interviewing Steven Spielberg
I always think what it must be like to listen to these kind of guys talk in a relaxed setting. I believe thats where you see the true genius in people is through casual conversation. You get to see how people view the world or how they create their own. Very interesting stuff.
Zella Brown Art Collection
Home furnishing is never supposed to be this artistic and stunning. But I would never have my house be anything else. This is truly amazing work to have in anyones room.

Waltz With Bashir
THis looks like such an amazing film. It is a documentary told as a cartoon. I am so surprised this has never been done before and if it has I can guarantee it wasn't done this good. When I seen the trailer for it I was blown away by the possibilities this brought. I suggest everyone watch the trailer and see it when it comes to a theatre near you.
Johnny Cash Childrens book
Scotty Reifsnyder has created a fantastic children’s book that is based on the lyrics of a Johnny Cash song entitled “The Man Who Couldn’t Cry”. The book has a die cut that runs throughout adding a dimension of interactivity for the reader.
To me this is the true genius of Johnny Cash. His songwriting skills were never questioned but it takes some time before your the true talent of your work shines through. This proves his lyrics were timeless. I think country music may be one of few if not the only genre where stories are told in such detail. For one of his songs to be turned into a childrens book means it stood the ultimate test of time and is now bringing the story he told to a whole other generation.
RIP Johnny Cash. One of my heroes in music and a true genius.

TV on the Radio-Dear Science..Music finally got it right
TV on the Radio's new album this year was head and shoulders above anything else that came out. Much to my surprise amid a lot of the mediocre yet highly acclaimed albums they finished #1 on a lot of magazines lists. Albums this good never get the proper accolades. This was one of the few albums this year that was a correct, direct commentary on the current state of the country played through a unique rock sound that set itself apart from the industry. So this is more of an ode to music magazines in 2008 for finally getting it right.
Yes and there amazing live.

Wale @ the Highline in NY
One of my favorite new artists straight ripped his show in NY that was also opened by Colin Munroe and Kid Cudi. Wale's showmanship is top notch.

In other news..
I just got my hands on the Day N Nite Instrumental and I'm just about done with it but I think I might spruce it up keep it for the mixtape. I may show it to a few select people and see what they think but I kinda want to hold this for the bigger project. This beat is so hypnotic I swear.
I also will probably do some stuff over the Boss beat by Rick Ross. I wanna know who made that because the bass line is nuts. I was inspired to do this one last night, word to Danny and Moe.
Other then that just putting in a lot of work mastering the craft. If anyone has beats or has heard a really cool one lately let me know so I can work with it. You can never do too much work.

Dear Rosario Dawson,
I overlooked your triflin harlet ways in Kids.
And you captured my heart in He Got Game. (Although I grew a hatred for Ray Allen but thats neither here nor there)
I watched the atrocity that was Josie and the Pussycats if only to see you grace the screen.
You held your own in Men In Black II and well Pluto Nash....we won't go there.
By just appearing in 25th Hour, which was one of my favorite movies, I only fell deeper in love.
I seen Alexander...that is something only we know the meaning too.
However it was in Sin City where you made me consider introducing you to Moms.. The danger and sultry demeanor of Gail made a comic book specialist as myself melt.
By the time Grindhouse and Rent came around I was already head over heals over you.
Eagle Eye came and any second thoughts I had of this were gone.
Which leads me to Seven Pounds which I just seen. I was officially sold.
Seeing as how one day I will be famous and seeing how well we fit together I would like to invite you to be my future baby's mother.
Yes while I do know you may be dating someone this is a proposition for the future that I feel will fit both of our needs.
Yours Truly,
DJ

House, Seattle, WA from Replinger Hossner Architects
It rains 97% of the time in Seattle. However in this house I would certainly deal with that.
I seen a house like this in Saucelito and thought it was the coolest thing. A house with walls of windows hanging over the hill. I still think that and would love to jot down a design similar to this for a house of my own.
Lupe @ Glastonbury
Some days I sit down and just watch all sorts of performances and study them and throughout that process a few will stick out to me. Lupe at the Glastonbury this summer was one of them. I loved this show.
Kanye West on SNL
I love SNL performances because I feel it brings the best out of artists for the for the most part. I always look for them to post on Sunday but I can never seem to find them. Seeing how this is Kanye it was uploaded mighty quickly and is one of the better performances I've seen in a while.

DANIEL LLIBESKIND'S GREEN NEW YORK TOWER
The latest towering building planned to grace the new york city skyline is one madison avenue by architect daniel libeskind. the 54-story condo building stands out from the crowd of glass towers by incorporating a series of ‘sky gardens’ at different parts of the building. the green spaces would be enclosed in cylindrical
glass tubes at the centre of the building and cut-aways in the face would open them up to the outside.

New Terminator 4 Trailer
I'm a huge Terminator fan and loved the choice of Christian Bale in the lead.
Looking at this Trailer we should see a great movie.
(Even though I'm still salty James Cameron isn't directing)

Nathan Thomas Interview
The People's Champ Hall of Fame: Philip Seymour Hoffman
Philip is easily one of the finer actors of our generation whether anyone likes it or not. No actor/actress has the kind of resume he has. He has been able to seemlessly transform into a unique character in all his films and has a range unlike anyone I've ever seen.
See him in MI:III as a villain you grow to hate.
See him in Along Came Polly as the friend we all have.
See him in Synecdoche, New York as a tragic hero you sympathize with.
Those are just very recent prominent roles where people may not have captured his true genius. See him next week in Doubt, a movie about a priest coming under fire for sexual molestation. Pay close attention and see the true transformation from actor to character.
