Against All Odds: Jesse Owen

Photobucket
In light of the olympics coming up I want to highlight some of the most meaningful moments to me in Olympic history. This specific one was from the 1936 Olympic games in Berlin when Hitler made the comments that his "master" race wouldnt lose to anyone, especially a black man such as Jesse. Well Jesse ended up proving everyone wrong by winning in all his events and setting new world records. This picture right here to me is the definition of humbleness when in harsh times, where everyone in Berlin wanted him to lose, where the guy next to him was doing the nazi salute, he still stood tall in such an act of humility. Jesse won, against all odds.
