Murakami is planning to open Hollywood cartoon studio

Photobucket

TAKASHI MURAKAMI, is now poised to become the country’s modern version of Walt Disney after news this week that he’s poised to set up a new animation studio in LA in summer 2009.

Operating under the umbrella of KAI KAI KIKI, his artist management & personal production company, the studio will be located on North Highland Ave in close proximity to the nexus of Hollywood studio activity.

Having proved his studio’s formidable animation chops with the Kai Kai Kiki-produced video for Kanye West’s “Good Morning,” and the “Superflat Monogram” short for Louis Vuitton, the company’s first pursuit will be the expansion of Murakami’s playfully fecal-friendly “Planting the Seeds” shorts starring his signature characters Kai Kai and Kiki that debuted at his “© Murakami” show in LA and Brooklyn last year into a feature-length film. Said Murakami about his new move into cartoons, “Animation and film have always been among my greatest influences, ever since I first saw ‘Star Wars’ and Hayao Miyazaki’s films. This studio represents a great step in the evolution of Kai Kai Kiki and gives me a closer proximity to the community of artists with whom I hope to collaborate as I continue my explorations of animated and live-action film.”

This was the best news I heard all day. I always figured that was the next step with him was getting into directing as Andy Warhol before him. It amazes me to even be alive the same time as him because he is this generations biggest artist. Nowadays being an artist doesnt bring you the fame it once did due to every other faucet of entertainment we had. We need to remember Da Vinci, Picasso, and Dali were the superstars of their time. To see Murakami have such mainstream success is very exciting to me because we are exposed everything he does. He was also Time's 100 most infuential people of 2009 and the only artist that can say that this year.

Probably a top 5 music video of all time of mine

As you readers know, I love music videos. (sidebar: I think it's crazy that I been blogging for 3-4 months now and feel like you guys know me pretty darn well. Like I just opened a bit of my self to the world. Pretty cool if you think about it). This video is so innovative and really the pinnacle of how a music video should be directed.

Dover Street Market Scarves

Photobucket

My new fashion obsession lately has been scarves. I absolutely love what they bring to the table in terms of style and comfort. These specifically are cool because they are not too winterish in color but I like them anyways and if I see them I will most likely purchase one to add to my collection.

Jamie Foxx- Just Like Me

Jamie is one of my favorite entertainers and I love his music. This is a real cool video and look out for his album December 16th.

And Happy Thanksgiving.

These are some next level type sunglasses.

Photobucket

I don't like Beyonce much but she gained a lot of cool points just by wearing these. It's like an answer to Kanye's shutter shades. She just went and got blinds for sunglasses.

Bjork- Human Behaviour

Bjork is one of my favorite voices to listen to and she always has the coolest videos. This one was directed by Michel Gondry and is from her debut album.

If anyone is wondering what I want for christmas.....

Photobucket

This fine Casio G Shock watch would certainly do the trick although I may end up buying it soon anyways. I'm very impatient. haha. But then again there are a lot of things that I want which makes it fairly easy to show for me.

"Remember your dreams is your only scheme.."

"..so keep on pushing"
Photobucket

Curtis Mayfield may be one of the most underrated black artists of all time. While he had a lot of success in his career the genius of Curtis Mayfield is still not fully appreciated. While I had some downtime yesterday I happened to sit down and listen to Curtis, Curtis Mayfield's solo debut album and was really amazed with it.

Curtis wasn't just an average early 70's soul album. Curtis was too talented for that. This was a direct overview on the black community and society as a whole told from a gritty, straightforward point of view. Combining late 60's Motown soul and early 60's Psychedelic rock it was a new sound that was unheard of in music. This is one of the more complete albums of that era where it really hit on all sorts of subjects. All in one body of work a song like "The other side of town" which is a sad look on the poverty stricken black communities all over America could be almost answered with a song like "Move on up". While being very blunt with the truth he also provided an inspirational sound that became an anthem for that time period.

Anyone who enjoys good music would enjoy Curtis. It was one of the more important albums of that time period and a true piece of art in musical form.

Seven Pounds Trailer

New Will Smith movie that comes out in December. The trailer seems very confusing but it is assuring to know this is from the director that did Pursuit of Happyness so it should be good.

One of my favorite shoe designs in one of my favorite colorways

Nike Foamposite Eggplant/Black

I probably have posted these quite a few times but I am just highly anticipating the release of these. The icy soles are what really, in my opinion, set it apart from the other colorways that came out although I like the black/cactus joints.

The release date is looking to be around February 2009 and I may get two pairs just because it's one of my favorite shoes.

Quick update

Went to the doctors yesterday and they told me after seeing my blood work I don't have acid reflux but something worse. The good thing is what I have is easier to recover from and should be gone soon.

As far as work goes I'm gonna begin recording some stuff this weekend and will post up low quality unmastered stuff when I finish them just so you guys can hear something and give me feedback.

Did Izzie having sex with herself? She's insane. I swear, if she hurts
Alex... again...

The interns are idiots. Meredith's friend is on something. But at least
they are finally stopping their madness...

Poor Alex and his Poop Chick. That has gotta be the weirdest thing I've
ever heard. I never want to know what that must be like. So word to the
wise from a future pharmacist: DO NOT TAKE ANTIBIOTICS UNLESS NECESSARY.

Dr. Sloan is a dreamboat... if only... such a sweetheart.
See, and the funny thing is: all these dreamy doctors were most likely the
nerdiest nerds of them all. I mean the ones that go to the 8th floor of
Giesel Library to study [if you don't know, that's the most intense floor]
and gave glares to anyone who dared to breathe a little too loudly.

And honestly, Lexi, you, my dear, are an idiot.
How could Meredith not help Cristina out? I mean, the Chief is basically
her dad. So I wonder what Cristina's gonna do next week... She has to pick
Meredith... who else would she pick? I don't think she'll pick George or
Izzie... I think Alex may have a chance if she really is that mad at
Meredith.

George is George... Of course he doesn't know when a girl likes him! Are
you kidding me? You can't be mad at him for not knowing about Lexi and her
feelings.

XLarge x Takashi Murakami x Citizen Watch

Anybody that reads this blog frequently knows I love Murakami. Anything he designs I like and probably wish I could buy. Until the day comes that I am able to I will just continue to blog it. haha.

The case is pretty cool too.

Casa C, Italy, by Damilano Studio

Photobucket

A house with a heavy mid-century vibe to it, where spaces interact with each other instead of delimiting areas. I love the play of modern designer furniture combined with the ultra classics. The black Saarinen and white Panton chairs are a plus.
The minimal use of colors for the canvas makes the accent pieces pop even more.

Rose's Grey's Anatomy Blog #3

This will be short, but sweet. Seeing as I can't remember too many details since it's been so long.

Dr. Owen Hunt is crazy. I think Cristina should stay away from that crazy mofo. But... he called her "Single Malt Scotch" at the end of the other episode. It was sweet.

Now, Let me just put out there... I HATE THE INTERNS. Sadly, and sadistically, I hope that intern does have something major happen to him, but of course, Cristina will get in trouble for the actions of her dumb interns. She should be teaching them in the first place, shouldn't she?

Dr. Sloan... I must admit, I probably woulda fallen for him at first sight, but my alter ego, Cristina was strong enough to resist him. That's where we differ. Haha. And Dr. McDreamy's "Keep Little Sloan away from Little Grey." Only to be refuted with "Little Sloan? You mean BIG Sloan!" Hahahahaha. Oh, that man... I will even tell you that he is currently the wallpaper on my laptop. =]

Izzie is freakin NUTS. She probably has a tumor... I mean those were the rumors going around the set anyways, right? And I swear, if she hurts Alex, AGAIN, it will be on. He's such a sweet guy. =[

Meredith and McDreamy are kinda boring now, aren't they? See, we knew they would end up together, and now it's boring. Hopefully something will happen to spice it up? Cuz reading her mother's diaries are doing nothing for the show except making her a better doctor. Hahah.

I would comment on the new girl, but I was at a meeting so I missed the first half hour. That new cardio doctor was so sad... I don't know if she'll come back cuz they are really sarcastic doctors... It'll be hard for her, and I don't want them to be less sarcastic, so she should probably go work at Mercy West and stay away from Seattle Grace.

Poor Callie is so heartbroken... Too bad Hahn had to leave the way she did, buuuut, she was getting on my nerves anyways.

Now, does anyone know if there will be a new episode next week? Seeing as it's Thanksgiving and all...

"How could you be so heartless?"

Really interesting video. I like the cartoon type of idea and of course the Andy Warhol work in the back. 808's and Heartbreaks is going to be very interesting to say the least.

"We make mistakes, we love, we hate"

"were not angry anymore though."

This is just an interlude in life. We come across things sometimes and don't know how to handle it. Things fall apart but we build them back. Things end and things begin. Pain breeds beauty. We will see what beauty life will bring to my mind and the art that will come from that.

While I had been facing obstacles people may be happy to know that I'm back on the grind again and in the lab writing and interested to see what comes out. I can't record yet so it will be all on paper and hopefully when I get better I will be able to record it all in a short amount of time to give to you guys. I'm not positive what the name of the mixtape will be yet but I am referring to it as Project Break until I think of an actual title. Expect a lot of different sounds and ideas to come from it and all I can really say at this point is expect something very relatable.

Of course I love designer sneakers and hi-top shoes in general. These are outlandish and fashionable at the same time. The downside of course is that they come with a hefty price tag I don't even want to type. One day though...One day.

Rose's Grey's Anatomy Blog #2

Well. Another week has passed, which means Grey's Anatomy review.

*SPOILERS AHEAD!!!*

First of all, let me just put out there that I would love to have an Anatomy Jane doll. Second, the viewer discretion that

no animals were harmed during the filming of the episode was genius.

So the military doctor is back, and has secured a job at Seattle Grace. Hmm, I don't know what to make of Cristina

grabbing Meredith and running at the site of him. Awkward much? And then the fact that he "forgot" her name, then

proceeded to call her "Christine..." Yeah I'm not gonna lie, I started to really dislike the guy... probably decided he was

the worst guy in the world after the stabbing of the pigs, making Cristina stay with the pigs, and dismissing McDreamy

and McSteamy. But it made a 180 turn when he responded to McDreamy and McSteamy's confrontation by asking them

what he could do to be better, then explaining to Cristina that everyone he was with in died, making him the jerk he

was. In my humble opinion... I think the guy should be hanging out in Psych after all that. Post-traumatic stress

disorder, anyone? I think Cristina's gonna have to stay away from this one, at least for a while.

Callie and Erica... Oh, now tell me that wasn't one of the most intense moments in the history of TV shows! Erica saw

the leaves, then proceeded to CRY! Poor Callie was scared off then poor Erica felt like a rejected idiot. And here is the

lesson in that kids, do not upset a surgeon before they need to go to work! It is not good for anyone. Then Callie

proceeded to sleep with Mark Sloan after THE amazing night with Erica. Oh what is this girl on? Haha. I guess I

shoulda expected Callie still being a little confused... but hopefully she's done... but it does make for interesting TV.

Haha.

The inoperable tumor. Are you serious? If I needed to or if it was real, I'd head to Seattle Grace for all my medical

problems. They took out all the girl's organs! Then put them on ice! Then reconnected everything after they took out the

tumor! Amazing. Bailey is the best. I love that she can put people in their places.

Now is it just me or do Meredith and Derek just seem too... calm? I guess it's due to the fact that Meredith is dealing

with her mommy issues. And we all know that even though the Chief is not her biological father... he's SOOO her dad.

Well, Izzie went a little crazy, but I feel it was justified. Alex got a little grimy... all good.
So here is where I get embarrassed. I have to admit that my roommate and I both cried at the end. Alex comes into

Izzie's room, where she's exhausted and upset, to ask her for help... relationship help. He asked what he should do.

That was one of the most adorable things I've ever seen a guy do. Sure, it wasn't a huge, expensive gesture... but what

he did shows that he really cares. And that was magnificent. So I <3 Dr. Alex Karev.

Now I must attend to some homework...
But tune in on the CW at 8 for Gossip Girl on Mondays... it's gettin super, extra good. =]
