These are just things I like. Things I feel are stylish and things that I just like and people I admire. So without further ado this is my A-Z style list.
Arcade fire, The- One of my favorite new bands is this Canadaian Indie rock band that took music by storm. Their latest album Arcade Fire took music by storm and was ranked in the top 5 of many publications top 100 albums of 2007.
Batman- My all-time favorite superhero and the character that really interested me in comic books as a young lad. Everything about Bruce Wayne and Batman was always so intriguing and I mean who didn’t like Batman Begins and The Dark Knight. Anyone interested in Batman and wants to get into comics definetly needs to read Batman Year One or The Long Halloween which are both considered some of the best writing in the comic book mediums. Yes I'm a comic book nerd. haha
Curve, Blackberry- This thing will ruin your life if you allow it. It has every single thing you would ever need from a cellular device and things you my not need but love that you have. Anybody who has never had any sort of PDA before and then gets this literally has it attached to their hands at all time. Quite a great milestone in modern technology is the Blackberry Curve.
Damier Azur Print-I have to admit as much as I love LV the monogram was bugging the heck out of me. It was so tired and played that I couldn’t stomach that Marc continued to place these things on every bag and belt. Then this came and I learned to keep my mouth shut when Marc works. This, although very subtle, was just what the doctor ordered to revamp the new LV line.
Entourage- It’s not the greatest writing on TV and not the best acting but darn it it’s a good show. Ari’s quotes every episode make up for everything wrong in the show so it is ok. And I mean you kiddin me? I am Queens BLVD
Ford, Tom- Known mostly for high class sunglasses and controversial ads Tom Ford was settled in a nice niche in fashion and has created one of the most unique overall lines in quite some time.
Grape v’s- My all time favorite shoe. I need a pair.
Home décor-Yes this is not the most popular hobby among males but me I am obsessed with patterns. I’ve always been. So it almost seems like this is something that is putting that to use. I feel like I am a master at color coordinating and designing things with my forte being kitchens and living rooms. I love modern art so I feel my design taste is geared towards that. It was just somewhat of a hobby I picked up from from grandma's magazines and I can say that when I build my dream house it will be dope as heck.
iPhone- My child. Everything I do runs through this. My schedule, music, maps, blog, wikipedia, movie times, ebay, banking, newspaper, Shakespeare, reviews, scores…and oh yea I can call people too.
John Coltrane- One of my favorite Jazz artists ever he changed the face of jazz music during his prime. I feel A Love Supreme should be implemented into children’s learning curriculum in elementary school. That’s how monumental to music I think it was. I fel he is the 20th century’s Mozart as a musician and did unprecedented things with his instrument.
Kobe- The best player in the game fresh off of leading the USA team to a gold medal and being league MVP now will be eyeing a NBA championship as he leads a healthy Lakers squad this season. Easily my favorite athlete right now and his suit game is fresh as well.
London- I need to go there. I love English culture. I want to get a fake Madonna English accent. The Brits have better TV and better fashion and I always wanted to live there for some amount time. Plus the real football is there and so is Anfield.
Marc Jacobs-Overseeing two fashion empires right now Marc is running the designing game on a mainstream level.
Nike Foamposites- One of my favorite designs ever. It brings the sleekness of an athletic shoe and the style of a casual shoe that you can wear with almost anything.
Otis redding- One of the most underrated singers of all time. He had one of the most unique voices in music history and did so many covers of songs and would make them his own. Had he not passed away early I am certain he would have fit into the Motown era and would be more of a legend in music then he is already.
Prince- OK there is nothing more to say about prince as a musician. He plays many instruments and has countless classic albums. What people don’t know is dude made unintentionally funny movies. You can’t watch Purple Rain or Under the chery moon and think its not funny. I dare anyone to say that. Just how he dressed showed how much he cared about what anything anyone said. His swagger was on a thousand million zillion.
Quentin tarantino- Writer and director of some of my favorite movies. He is the last of the classic gritty directors that shot movie genres how they deserved to be shot and brought back the resurgence of plenty of lost genres. He was able to use ideas from blaxploition films, kung fu films and old western films to create something like the Kill Bill series. Or channel the old grindhouse genre and create Death Proof.
Ralph Lauren- its ralphie. He was able to make a clothing line that was accepted by upperclass suits and the hood at the sme time. Such a visionary in fashion still and one of the best dressed old men in the world.
Sin City-The best comic book series I have ever read and the best comic book movie adaptation I have ever read. How Frank Miller created his own world that so seamlessly intertwines with the other stories is amazing and so innovative to the comic book genre at the time. The film was simply amazing and shot in a way that has never been done before. It was a classic in my eyes and did the comic justice.
Takesh Murakami-Quite simply the new Andy Warhol. No one does Pop Art like Murakami. Period. He was handpicked by Marc Jacobs to do work on LV and came out with classic work that made LV important again. Everything he touches turns into gold. The way his mind works is sickening in the most positive way possible. Its unbelieveable how he works.
Underdog- One of my favorite cartoons growing up. I was sad the move sucked and used a real dog instead of cgi. What was up with that?
Vegas, Las- Man one of my favorite American cities.. The lights, the atmosphere is so addicting to me. I would love to live in Vegas for an extended time. Every hotel has so much to do and there is always a good show playing. This is before I’m even 21 too. Once I do turn 21 I may stay for a good week and take a few thousand dollars that I wouldn’t mind losing.
Watchmen-The best piece of fictional writing I have ever read. It is simply amazing and the art work in it is stunning. If this movie is done correctly I have no question it will be movie of the year next year. Great layering throughout the story and a interesting story that is such a satire on the superhero genre. Please read it and you will not be disappointed.
Xbox 360-I like ps3 but I couldn’t think of anything else that starts with an x and I mean xbox is pretty cool anyways.
Yves St. Laurent-The man. The legend. The fashion god. The icon. One of the most innovated minds in fashion history. RIP
Z(S)carlet Johannsen- Yea its not a z. sue me
